The decision includes two important things:
- ODF is on the list - OOXML is NOT!
- New standards MUST live up to certain criterias, among others it must be fully inter-operable with existing formats (formats already on the list). Microsoft is therefor responsible for interoperability with ODF.

I'm sorry, but ODF is NOT on the list. The list is empty currently, but it is expected that ODF fulfills the criteria defined by the parliament.
ReplyDeleteAccording to §4 (Editable documents) it is:
ReplyDelete"...use the formats from §2, including ODF..." and "...using ODF or other open file formats from the list"

Hooray! Norway, and now Denmark. I hope the whole Nordic region follows suit and continues to show the rest of the word how things should be done.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are contributing to the public review of ODF 1.2
